Closed for two weeks primary schools in London
The closure of London’s public schools for two weeks, in order to deal with the rapid spread of the youngest and most contagious strain of the coronavirus, announced the mayor of the British capital.
On Wednesday, Education Secretary Gavin Williamson outlined a plan to delay the opening of high schools, but the opening of most primary schools for children under the age of 11 next week, as soon as the Christmas holidays are over.
Only in the most affected areas of the country, which included some districts of the capital, schools were expected to remain closed. However, local authorities in areas where the schools were to reopen protested.
