The coronavirus is rampant in Britain while schools are about to open
Britain announced 57,725 new Covid-19 cases, recording more than 50,000 infections for the fourth day in a row, as well as 445 new deaths, according to official figures released on Saturday.
On New Year’s Eve, the country recorded 53,285 new cases of coronavirus and 613 deaths.
The British government is under a lot of pressure to abandon its plans to reopen primary schools in much of England on Monday 4 January, with high schools and high schools starting on 11 January.
Britain’s largest teaching union announced on Saturday that it had authorized lawyers to send a letter to the British government demanding the disclosure of the statistics that led to the decision. Another union called on the government to take all English primary school classes electronically for the first few weeks of the year.
