Blue dinners, ministerial “licenses”, her aphrodisiac power and a Swedish pilot
I have had a curiosity these days, what is being discussed at these notorious blue dinners of Members who are made especially to “know the government again” (after the 11 question, I would add). So I chose the dinner that Minister of Education Kyriakos Pierrakakis presented to the Members of the Committee on Cultural Affairs for two reasons: The first was because I knew that Pierrakakis is on a diet (“nutrition” is said to the government) and the truth is that I had a question, what he would eat at the tavern “Karavitis”, at the core of his constituency, but famous for her ribs (arid milk and sheep), steaks, meatballs, sausages. Except Minister, then, everyone honored the meat-eating menu, making Deputy Minister of Education Zetta Makri, to tell the group “Better tomorrow not to have any of you test cholesterol”. The second reason was to see if these dinners were indeed appeased to the Members and as a miracle there was no question of internal opposition, such as school mergers, mobiles in the bag, school violence and much more. And how can difficult questions be asked to the minister when the only person who signed the question of 11 to Kostis Hatzidakis was Nikitas Kaklamanis (who apparently kept his strength, because Nikitas is known to not stop surprising the government). Suddenly a lady appeared at the tavern with a garden tree. Everyone thought she was there by accident, but it emerged that she was known and a voter of Pierrakakis, who told her “the flowers to ladies and gentlemen”. The minister with his diet managed to lose ten pounds, seemed to be delighted with the flowers shared with the surprised members of the Education Committee and some of the… Maximus. In this nice atmosphere (which Dinos Iliopoulos would say), a singer came to add. No, it wasn’t planned, he wasn’t singing at the tavern, he was just there by accident, and once Helen Rhoda realized the minister, he ran to greet him and declare a fan. News finally came out, only the Minister’s announcement that there will be an explosion this university year: “Explosion in both schools and higher education”, as he called it, meaning the operation of foreign universities. Some Members asked when and how many foreign universities would come, someone said eight, but nothing was confirmed. At that time the Smartwatches of some Members gave the tragic news about Marinella from Herodion, causing emotion to everyone. At some point the debate continued with the… Middle East, with the Gaza war, with the bombings in Lebanon, with the rockets of Hezbollah, with the former deputy minister, professor and internationalologist Angelos Syrigo (Member of the Commission) answering every question. Did the MPs find him there and say, “Don’t we ask him something?” In New York Greek-Chinese relations were at the centre of the meeting of foreign ministers of the two countries George Gerapetritis and Wang Yi. And they came out of what I learned and news. China announced that as of October 1st the Greeks (and Greek women) who travel for tourist and business reasons will no longer be needed.
Of course Mr. Gerapetrite asked for more to come. Chinese in Greece, which Mr Wang takes for granted, since as he said, Greece’s advertising in China is not needed, because Greece is learned by the Chinese from schools. But let me note this: From 2018 to last July, with Golden Visa more than 7 thousand Chinese citizens obtained permanent residence permits through the purchase of real estate. Let’s talk about this. Speaking of China and Chinese, I hear that Immigration Policy Minister Nikos Panagiotopoulos was to comment on the measures taken by the Germans for immigrants and the attempt to abolish the Schengen Treaty. If Mr Panagiotopoulos attends at least 1% of the Chinese from television then he will certainly break a ratings record in Greece. == sync, corrected by elderman == @elder_man They still wonder at the government how it came to Adonis Georgiades the idea that electoral law should be changed, as of now, without even discussing it. However, there has been an answer which can be interpreted as “licence” to the Minister of Health given by government representative Paul Marinakis.
Maximos’ message was clear as Mr Marinakis was asked about the Health Minister’s statements on possible changes in electoral law – so that the Greek political scene would not be Italianized – he said categorically that there is no such debate. He stressed that Mr Georgiadis expressed his firm position and did not make a proposal. The vice-president of the ruling party and Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis came forward today asking for an immediate change in the electoral law, and making indirect acceptance of the popular legitimacy of the Kyriakos Mitsotakis government.

The great poet, Tasos Levibaditis said: “Love and revolution have the same color, red”. That’s what I thought by looking back, but also today, and listing the love adventures of our politicians. And I remembered how Constantine Karamanlis, at an old age now, said that “to rule the country, I dried my soul.” And his great love teacher in politics, Andrew Papandreou, at a point left in History was as the oldest remember with the nod in Dimitra Liani, after Herfield. Today rumors give and take for political married and not, who enjoy the graces of love. Other illegal love, other legal, but we conclude that power is always the great aphrodisiac, as the late Henry Kissinger said. If love leads to divorce and new marriages, it is also judged by the temperament of the politician. But I assure you that this House has many emotional stories from politicians. In a good way, of course, of course… The new front of confrontation between blue MPs and government will soon come from Crete and Rhodes. There is an increased flow of refugees on the islands of the Eastern Aegean since traffickers now use high-speed vessels with terrible speeds that make the Port difficult. The government wants to establish structures in Rhodes and Crete, but residents (and MPs) refuse. They make the excuse that they are tourist places and do not even want to discuss the issue. The government, I’m learning, has counter-proposed temporary operation of structures so that immigrants are not in parks and squares, but still residents reject it. And they don’t joke, as they say. About 700 soldiers from the United Kingdom have developed on a RAF base in Cyprus as a measure of possible evacuation of British citizens from Lebanon, where the situation is deteriorating. It is recalled that the British have maintained a military presence in Cyprus for more than 60 years, with two bases in Cape Verde and Decelia.
The base in Cape Verde is particularly important due to the presence there of a RAF squadron. The location of Cyprus makes it ideal for a possible evacuation operation from Lebanon. Soldiers are ready, but no decision to evacuate has been made yet. The Andravida military airport track was filled by fighter aircraft (4th and 5th generation) participating in the Ramstein Flag 2024 NATO exercise, as I wrote yesterday. But what I learned is that of the 200 NATO fighter pilots involved in the exercise, only one is a woman. This is Swedish fighter pilot Saab JAS 39 Gripen. The remaining participating countries have so far sent only male pilots.
One more thing about this great exercise: The Turks have not notified the Air Force that they will not participate in the exercise. It was provocatively ignored, but they called NATO, saying that this exercise did not suit them. So many countries are involved and fit the exercise completely except Turks. And you know why? All these excuses are for not submitting flight plans.
