Britain: Two dead children and 11 wounded by knife attack

Two children were killed and eleven others injured by the knife attack that occurred today in Southport, northwestern England, local police announced.

A 17-year-old accused of homicide and attempted homicide has been arrested. Nine of the wounded are children and six of them are hospitalized in critical condition. The situation of both adult wounded, according to Serena Kennedy, the Merseyside Police Representative, is also considered critical. Earlier authorities reported that the perpetrator’s motives remain unclear and that the attack is not related to terrorism.
