Britain: Mother held her daughter in the drawer for three years

The ultimate horror was lived by a three-year-old girl in her mother’s arms who kept her all the years of her life locked in a drawer in their home in Britain. The girl, who had never known the light of day, was saved when a family visitor heard her cry and her mother was sentenced to seven years in prison for extreme neglect. Judge Stephen Everett stated that the woman “regarded the little girl of all love, any affection, attention, contact with other people, proper nutrition and the necessary medical care” says the BBC report. “A clever little girl who slowly begins to come alive, after what was almost a living death in that room” he added.

The child’s mother kept his existence secret even from her partner, who often lived at home. The girl was malnourished, to a point that looked like a seven-month-old baby, as she was fed only with some milk through a syringe. She had various medical problems, for which the mother had never sought treatment, deformities, and rashes.
